W. Soccer Suffers 1-0 Loss At ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The NC State women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss at East Carolina Friday night.
Playing its first road match of the season, NC State (4-3) finished with a 19-11 shot advantage in the game, including an 11-2 edge in the second half.
Add an 11-0 domination in corner kicks and the Wolfpack certainly had its chances tonight.
The winning goal came in the 62nd minute when Amanda Malkiewicz found Chrissy Gratz for her third goal of the season.
NC State peppered ECU (4-2) goalie Christian Cordero all night, forcing the net minder to make a staggering 11 saves.
Midfielders Kara Blosser and Meagan Proper each put three shots on net apiece to lead the visitors offensive attack.
Wolfpack keeper Kim Kern made two saves.
NC State returns home on Sunday to host Florida International at 1 p.m.
