RALEIGH, N.C. -
NC State softball will host six clinics this fall, each focusing on a different aspect of the game.
On Saturday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon, the instruction will focus on defense. It will include specific training in glovework, footwork, diving, and position work. That afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Wolfpack coaching staff will give hands on instruction for hitters, such as different drills, techniques and tips for improving your swing. The cost for each of these clinics is $50.
On Saturday, Sept. 25, the morning session will focus on specific techniques for slap hitters, as well as baserunning skills, and will be $40. The afternoon will be a more in-depth hitting clinic that will cover instruction on how to hit different pitches. It is only open to high school students or players who have previously attended Wolfpack hitting clinics. The hitting clinic will cost $50.
Pitching and catching will be covered in depth on Sunday, Sept. 26. Pitchers will work from 9 a.m. to noon, and again from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., focusing on mechanics, drills and pitch calling, among other things. The clinic for catchers will be during the same hours, and they will receive instruction on various techniques, as well as tips for making the pitcher look better. Both of these clinics together cost $90.
Each clinic will be held in Curtis and Jacqueline Dail Softball Stadium on NC State's campus. For more information, including registration, download the clinic brochure, found in the team links section beneath the roster.
