Volleyball Opens 2010 Season Friday

RALEIGH, N.C. -

NC State volleyball travels to Cullowhee, N.C. this weekend to usher in a new era in Wolfpack volleyball. First year head coach Bryan Bunn will lead the Pack Friday, Aug. 27 against Eastern Kentucky at 2:30 p.m. and at 5 p.m. versus Coppin State.

Saturday, the Pack will face host Western Carolina at 2 p.m. NC State last faced the Catamounts during the 2008 season, picking up a 3-1 win.

The Wolfpack is led by seniors Jana Angel, Taylor Pritchard and Alex Smith, who look to close out their careers with a successful senior campaign. The squad features ten newcomers, including University of Colorado transfers Megan Cyr and Becah Fogle, as well as six freshman.

The home portion of the schedule will begin Sept. 10 as the Pack host the NC State Tournament, which will feature Georgia Southern, Mercer and Morehead State, at Reynolds Coliseum.
