RALEIGH, N.C. – Allison Presnell was named to the 2010 All-ACC Academic Softball Team today, as announced by ACC Commissioner John Swofford. A senior during the 2010 season, Presnell received the academic accolade during all four years of her collegiate career at NC State.
This past March, Presnell was one of three NC State student-athletes to be awarded an ACC Postgraduate Scholarship.
“I’m very proud of Allison,” said head coach Lisa Navas. “She’s a great example of a Wolfpack softball player. She was a solid player on the field, and she was tremendous in the classroom.
A native of Harrisburg, N.C., Presnell was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Southeast Region Team selection in 2007 and was named to the same team by Louisville Slugger in 2008. A biomedical engineering major, she will pursue her graduate degree in pharmacy at the University of North Carolina.
Prensell ended her career at NC State sitting in fifth-place all-time in program history for both RBIs (99) and runs scored (76), while placing sixth in home runs (25).
