RALEIGH, N.C. - RALEIGH, N.C. - With the NC State men's soccer team reporting for fall camp in August, head coach George Tarantini has announced the new additions to the 2010 squad. The Pack will welcome 14 new players to blend with 15 returnees from last year's squad that finished No. 23 in the final rankings after advancing to the ACC Championship game and then the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
This year's incoming class features two NSCAA All-Americans, two international players with national team experience, and one Gatorade state Player of the Year among others.
"We are very excited about our recruiting class," said Tarantini who is about to enter his 25th year at the helm of the Pack. "This group has the potential to be one of the best recruiting classes in NC State history and also contribute right away. These young men are some of the best players in the country, and have played for some of the most accomplished youth soccer clubs.
"It is great to have these guys who are as dedicated to their studies as they are to their sport. They bring the same focus to their academic pursuits as they do their athletic endeavors."
