Men's Golf Ends Season at NCAA Regionals

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The NC State men’s golf season came to an end this weekend, as the Pack finished 11th at the NCAA Central Regional Championship in South Bend, Ind. The Pack finished the three rounds at 19-over (289-283-287=859) and missed out on being one of the five teams that advanced to the NCAA Championships.
The five teams advancing to the NCAA Championship (June 1-6 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn.) from the Central Regional are: Stanford, Florida State, Florida, Duke, LSU
The individual qualifier for the NCAA Championship from the Central Regional is Virginia Tech's Marshall Bailey, who shot a two-under 208 and tied Michigan's Matt Thompson as the low individual on a non-advancing team. Bailey then defeated Thompson on the first hole of a sudden death playoff to earn the individual berth.
Junior Matt Hill’s NC State career also came to an end, as he will be turning pro this summer. Hill finished one stroke out of playing in a playoff for the individual qualifier. Hill finished in 11th place over, finishing the tournament at one-under (209).
Freshman Mitchell Sutton finished 28th at three-over (213), while senior Adam Hogue was in 32nd place at four-over (214). Sophomore Mark McMillen (13-over, 223) and senior Brad Revell (21-over, 231) rounded out the Pack’s lineup.
