Women's Soccer Adds Two to Incoming Class

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State women’s soccer coach Steve Springthorpe announced Thursday he is adding Randi Soldat and Hannah Eshraghi to his incoming class for the 2010 fall semester.
Springthorpe now has 11 players that make up his first full recruiting class as he prepares for his second season at the helm of the Wolfpack.
Soldat hails from Rockwall, Texas. She earned three letters in soccer at Rockwall High School for coach Melissa Garcia. She also spent time with North Texas ODP from 2005-09.
During her time at Rockwall, she was named first team all-district her final two seasons, and was on the 2009 4A All-Region II team as a midfielder. She played a role in leading her club to the "Sweet 16" of the Texas playoffs for the first time in school history.
Soldat was also a key figure in her ODP clubs national championship run in 2009.
She also participated in cross country and track, earning a combined seven letters, and qualified for regionals in both sports three out of four years.
Also a standout in the classroom, she is a member of the National Honor Society, is an AP Scholar and earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for her work with the Boys and Girls Club, the Ronald McDonald House and the Salvation Army.
Eshraghi is from nearby Cary, N.C., and earned four letters in soccer at Athens Drive High School for coach Travis Seese. In 89 games, all starts, she scored 53 goals and handed out 20 assists for the Jaguars. Her team posted a 49-34-6 record in her career.
She has been named all-conference three times with the 2010 announcement pending at the conclusion of the spring campaign. Eshraghi was tabbed all-region last year as a junior.
Eshraghi also spent time with the local club program CASL, competing on the Elite team from 2003-08, and the Premiere squad in 2009 and 2010.
Off the pitch, she is the Student Body President at Athens Drive and is a member of the National Honor Society. Eshraghi is a four-year member of the academic all-conference team and is an honors scholar.
The previous nine signees for the Wolfpack include Victoria Hopkins (Fayetteville, Ga.), Jennie Krauser (Irvine, Calif.), Karri Owens (Raleigh, N.C.), Morgan Phipps (Winston-Salem N.C.), Claudel Pilon (Raleigh, N.C.), Ariela Schreibeis (Laramie, Wyo.), Kaley Shlaes (Shaker Heights, Ohio), Stacey Smith (Austin, Texas) and Lauren Woodson (Richardson, Texas).
NC State kicks off its 2010 season Satuday, Aug. 14 with an exhibition with Appalachian State. The regular season begins Aug. 20 against Texas. All home games are played at the on-campus Dail Soccer Field.
