Men's Golf in 10th at NCAA Regionals

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – After the first round of play at the NCAA Regional Championship, the NC State men’s golf team sits in 10th place after shooting a nine-over (289) on Thursday. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, and NC State is currently five strokes out of fifth place.
Junior Matt Hill was the Pack’s top golfer on the day, as he shot a one-under (69) and is currently in eight place.
The top individual not on the five advancing teams will also advance to the NCAA Championship, and Alexander Sitompal of Michigan, who also leads the individual standings, is that current golfer at four-under (66).
Freshman Mitchell Sutton finished the first round with an even-par (70). Senior Adam Hogue shot a three-over (73), sophomore Mark McMillen was at seven-over (77), and senior Brad Revell was eight-over (78).
Hill and Hogue each had a team-high three birdies during first round action.
Second round action will take place tomorrow, with the final round coming on Saturday. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
