BLACKSBURG, Va. – Lindsay Campana and Landon Warren were both named second-team All-ACC today as announced by the conference office at the start of the 2010 ACC Championships.
Wolfpack softball has now placed 14 student-athletes on the All-ACC squad in its seven-year existence.
A native of Templeton, Calif., Campana has served as the ace of the Wolfpack pitching staff for the past three seasons. Owning a 17-11 record this year, her 1.19 ERA ranks second in the ACC and 14th nationally, while her 234 K’s is fourth in the ACC and 35th nationally. She has allowed just 28 earned runs and tossed five shutouts in 193 2/3 innings of work.
“I’m glad that Lindsay has finally been recognized for her efforts for us,” said head coach Lisa Navas. “She has been an outstanding pitcher for us for the past three years, and I’m sorry to see her time with us coming to an end.”
Warren, out of Raleigh, N.C., has led the Pack offense all season long, leading the team in batting average (.325), hits (53) and doubles (8). She has tallied 14 multiple hit games on the year, including five games of three or more hits, and will carry a five-game hitting streak into the ACC Championships. Warren’s 53 hits are tied for sixth-most in the ACC, while her batting average ranks 10th.
“I’m exicted for Landon,” said Navas. “She’s had an outstanding year for us as a leadoff batter and we are expecting great things from her during the rest of her career.”
NC State will face North Carolina tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the ACC Championships.
