Track Competes at Duke Twilight Meet

Raleigh freshman Paige Eley won the 200 meters at the Duke Twilight Meet this evening in Durham. Eley clocked in at 25.04 in that event and finished fifth in the 100 meters with a mark of 12.32. Kayla Lawson was the winner in the high jump, posting a 1.69m (5’6-1/2”). On the men’s side, Kris Kornegay-Gober was the runner-up in the high jump with a 2.04m (6’8-1/4”), while Eric Davis finished third with the same height. The men’s 4x100 meter relay squad finished second as well, as Miles Walker, Reggie Reese, A’Tolani Akinkuotu and Shawn Murray clocked in at 42.02. Reese and Akinkuotu also competed in the 100 meters, where Reese finished sixth at 10.82 and Akinkuotu finished 14th. It marked Akinkuotu’s first competition since late March, when he injured his hamstring at the Raleigh Relays.
