No. 30 W. Tennis Falls to No. 17 FSU

Raleigh, N.C. - The No. 30 NC State women's tennis team lost 7-0 to No. 17 Florida State on Saturday, April 3. The Wolfpack drops to 9-8 and 1-6 in the ACC, while the Seminoles move to 10-7 and 4-2 in the ACC.
The Seminoles took the doubles point to gain a 1-0 advantage. Berkeley Brock and Lenka Hojckova paired up at No. 1 doubles, losing 8-2 to Lauren McCreless and Francesca Segarelli. The Wolfpack responded with Sandhya Nagaraj and Daria Petrovic beating Jessica Sucupira and Federica Suess 8-2. The Noles won the point when Diana Mortlock and Chloe Smith lost to Katie Rybakova and Amy Sargeant 8-5.
Singles play was tough for the Pack. Smith was defeated 6-2, 6-2 by Suess. Mortlock lost 6-4, 6-1 to Sucupira. Brock fell to No. 89 Segarelli 6-3, 6-4 to give the Noles the victory.
No. 68 Nagaraj was beaten 6-4, 6-2 by No. 20 McCreless. Petrovic was close in both sets, but fell short 7-5, 7-5 to Sargeant. Hojckova lost a three-setter to Rybakova, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
The Pack resumes play a week from today on April, 10 at noon against No. 34 Virginia.
