RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team competed at its last spring tournament this weekend, playing three matches at UNC Greensboro. The Wolfpack, led by assistant coach Pete Hoyer, took on Lees-McRae, Elon and UNC Greensboro.
Head coach Bryan Bunn and assistant coach Stevie Mussie were both on the road recruiting.
“We are seeing progress, but we still have a lot of work to do,” said Hoyer. “Right now we are seeing a lot of improvement individually, which is gratifying because those are the things that we are currently working on in practice.”
Hoyer was pleased with several performances, pointing out Alex Smith’s play in Greensboro.
“I thought Alex played really well for us,” said Hoyer. “She was isolating her hitters and attacked the ball really well.”
