Seaman Earns All-America Honors on Bars

GAINESVILLE, FLA. – In her final collegiate meet, senior Taylor Seaman finished her career on a high note. Thursday night at the NCAA Championships at Florida, Seaman became the first gymnast in NC State’s 30-year history to earn All-America honors.
Seaman, competing in the all-around at the NCAA Championships, finished in seventh place on bars with a score of 9.875 to earn second-team All-America honors. Six gymnasts finished ahead of Seaman with a 9.9 on bars and advanced to the finals, but Seaman tied for seventh in the event and now goes down as the first All-American in Wolfpack history in any event.
Seaman, competing as an individual in the all-around, started her night out on floor. She posted a score of 9.85, and finished in 13th place on floor. She then moved over to vault, and scored a 9.775.
Seaman then competed on bars, and came away with NC State’s top result at the NCAA Championships in school history with her 9.875 and seventh place showing.
She ended her evening on beam, and scored a 9.150 after suffering a fall.
Overall in the all-around, Seaman scored a 38.650 in the all-around, but more importantly came away with NC State’s best results in NCAA history with her showing on bars.
