Hill in Second, Pack in Sixth at ACC Championship

NEW LONDON, N.C. – Junior Matt Hill, the defending co-ACC champion, currently sits one stroke off the pace in second place after first round action at the 2010 ACC Championship being held this weekend at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C.
Hill shot an opening round six-under (66) in the first round on Friday, which included a team-high seven birdies and only one hole over par for the round. Hill started off strong, as he birdied five of the first nine holes and was at five-under on the front-nine. Hill also finished strong, as he birdied the two final holes of his round.
Adam Long of Duke holds the overall lead, as he shot a seven-under (65) in first round action.
As a team, the Pack sits in sixth place after finishing at one-under (287) on Friday. Georgia Tech leads the field at nine-under (279), while Duke and Wake Forest are tied in second at eight-under (280).
Senior Adam Hogue also carded a round under par, as he sits in 14th place at one-under (71). Hogue had three birdies on the day, including one on No. 18. Hogue finished with a two-under on the back-nine.
Senior Brad Revell and freshman Mitchell Sutton each shot a three-over (75) in first round action. Revell had an eagle on the par-five No. 1 to start off the day, and finished with three birdies. Sutton had a pair of birdies on the day. Sophomore Mark McMillen finished at five-over (77).
