RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team continued spring play this past weekend, competing at a tournament at High Point. The Wolfpack challenged Catawba, Elon, Davidson and Wingate, with assistant coach Stevie Mussie leading the team on the court.
Head coach Bryan Bunn and assistant coach Pete Hoyer were both on the road recruiting.
“We got a little bit better this weekend,” said Mussie. “We are making improvements. It’s going to be slow, but as long as the girls keep getting better and continue focusing on what we learn in the gym and carry that into competition, we will continue to improve.”
Kelly Wood and Jana Angel both served as bright spots for the Pack over the weekend, with Wood doing a great job on service reception, allowing NC State to function in system for the majority of play. Angel was one of the leading attackers over the weekend, and continued to improve on blocking and getting up in transition.
NC State will continue play this weekend at UNC Greensboro under the direction of Coach Hoyer.
