Dason, Henley Tabbed for All-ACC Academic Team

RALEIGH, N.C. – Patrice Dason and Marifrances Henley of the NC State women’s swimming and diving program were named to the 2010 ACC Women’s Swimming & Diving All-ACC Academic Team on Tuesday, as announced by Commissioner John Swofford.
All-ACC Academic student-athletes must have earned a 3.0 GPA for the fall semester and maintained a 3.0 for the careers, with selection based on athletic merit.
Dason, a senior from Knightdale, N.C., set a new school record in the 100 butterfly (54.27) and posted top-three all-time marks in the 100 freestyle (51.03) and 100 backstroke (55.93) this season. Her 100 backstroke time is second all-time, and her 100 freestyle swim is fifth. She also swam on four school record setting relays this past year, including the 200-medley relay (1:41.86), 400-medley relay (3:43.01), 200-freestyle relay (1:32.65) and 400-freestyle relay (3:21.03). Additionally Dason hit an NCAA “B” cut in the 100 butterfly.
Henley, a freshman out of Memphis, Tenn., had a sensational rookie campaign, setting a new school record in the 200 freestyle (1:47.69). She also swam the second quickest 500 freestyle (4:48.10) and seventh best 50 freestyle (23.63) and 100 freestyle (51.28) in the Wolfpack annals, hitting NCAA “B” cuts in the 200 and 500 freestyles along the way. She took part in four school record setting relays, including the 400-medley relay (3:43.01), 200-freestyle relay (1:32.65), 400-freestyle relay (3:21.03) and 800-freestyle relay (7:21.94).
