#25 Gymnastics Downs William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - No. 25 NC State (10-3) defeated William & Mary by a score of 192.825 - 190.375 in Williamsburg, Va. on Thursday night. Junior Brittany Vontz won the all-around with a career-high score of 39.100. Vontz also won floor and beam and tied for second on bars and vault. Sophomore Brooke Barr won vault and senior Lauren Deuser won bars.
The Wolfpack won vault, bars and beam and finished second on floor as a team.
Barr led NC State to a team score of 48.750 on vault with her score of 9.8. Vontz and freshman Rachel Fincham tied for second on vault with a 9.75.
On bars, NC State scored a 48.650 as Deuser scored a 9.775 to win the event. Barr and Vontz both tied for second with a 9.75.
Vontz, Deuser and Barr made it a 1-2-3 sweep on beam to lead the team to a 47.800. Vontz turned in a 9.825 to win the event. Deuser scored a 9.75 and Barr a 9.7.
Vontz won again, posting a 9.775 on floor to lead the team to a score of 47.625. Sophomore Becca Teich continues to post consistent scores on floor, turning in a second place finish in this meet with a 9.725.
Fincham was third in the all-around.
NC State will continue an extended road trip with two meets in three days next weekend, competing at New Hampshire on March 12 and at Georgie on March 14. The Pack will return home for senior day and the regular season meet of the season on March 19 at 7 pm against William & Mary.
