BLACKSBURG, Va. - The NC State men's and women's track and field team will head to Blacksburg, Va., for the 2010 ACC Indoor Championships. The Pack will be lead by five athletes that rank in the top-40 nationally in their respective events.
For the women, Kayla Lawson is ranked 25th-nationally in the high jump after posting the fourth-best mark in school history, a 5'10". That mark is also tied for first in the ACC.
Thrower Lawanda Henry us ranked in both the shot put and the weight throw, as the school record holder in both events continues to impress as a sophomore in both events. She broke her own school record in the weight throw earlier this year with a 63'00.75", the second-best mark in the ACC and good for 24th-nationally. Henry is also 31st in the shot put with a mark of 50'08.25", also second in the conference.
Both Lawson and Henry have hit NCAA Indoor Provisional qualifying marks in their events already.
