M. Track & Field In Action at Three Meets

The NC State men's track and field team sent split squads to three meets this weekend - the Tyson Invite in Fayetteville, Ark., UNC Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. and Huskie Classic in Seattle, Wash.
A'tolani Akinkuotu - who ranks 21st nationally in the 60m dash - was in action with his teammates at the Tyson Invite, and he finished sixth in the 60m dash consolation after a 15th place showing in prelims. Both times clocked in at 6.76.
Shawn Murray ran a season-high in the 400m, 49.67, for a sixth-place finish.
At the UNC Invitational, Jason Jones won the shot put with a season-high mark of 57'03.00". He was also fourth in the weight throw with a 53'01.00".
Austin Jackson was seventh in the 400m with his season-high, a 50.95.
Jared Fontaine was eighth in the triple jump with a 42'07.00".
Timothy Majors finished 12th in the 60m hurdles after placing eighth in the prelims with a career-high 8.42.
Patrick Campbell ran a 14:25.60 in the 5,000m run, his personal-best.
The Tyson Invite and Huskie Classic continue on Saturday.
