Lassiter Invited to MLS Player Combine

RALEIGH, N.C. - Major League Soccer announced its initial list of invitees to the 2011 MLS Combine and NC State senior Tyler Lassiter was named to the list. The 2011 MLS Player Combine will take place in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jan. 7-11.
The initial player list was determined by a panel of Division I college coaches, representing all conferences, who nominated and voted for players in conjunction with MLS coaches. These players will be joined by Generation adidas players, additional collegiate players from NCAA Division II and III schools, NAIA schools, and Division I alternates.
The players will be split into four teams and play against each other Jan. 8-11 at Central Broward Regional Park in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Of the 54 college seniors named to the MLS Combine list 36 schools were represented.
The MLS SuperDraft is set for Jan. 13, 2011 in Baltimore, Md. The 2011 SuperDraft will consist of four rounds with 18 selections each for a total of 72 players selected during the draft.
Another NC State senior is working on playing professionally next season. Chris Zuerner just returned from a four day “Invite Only” combine in Casa Grande, Arizona, specifically for the Real Salt Lake-AZ MLS team.
