Women's Soccer Hosts Kick For The Cure

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's soccer team is hosting a Kick for the Cure breast cancer awareness event on Sunday, October 10 when the Wolfpack host Maryland at Dail Soccer Field at 1 p.m.
NC State will be wearing pink jerseys in honor of the fight against breast cancer. During the first half a silent auction will be conducted as fans will be able to bid on the jerseys worn during the match.
NC State is only accepting cash and checks made out to NC State Athletics, with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
All bids will start at $25, and the bidding process will go on until the end of halftime.
The Kay Yow Cancer Fund™ is a 501 c(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women’s cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.
The Wolfpack suffered a 2-1 overtime loss at Wake Forest on Thursday night. Five of the Pack's six losses have now come by just one goal in 2010. NC State stands at 7-6 overall, and 1-3 in the ACC.
Meanwhile, No. 5 Maryland is coming off a 2-1 win over No. 2 Boston College on Thursday. The Terrapins improved to 10-1-1 on the year, 2-1-1 in the ACC.
