NC State heads west on I-40 this week to visit Wake Forest in an Atlantic Coast Conference women's soccer tilt in Winston-Salem, N.C, on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Wolfpack is tied for seventh in the league's ledger with three points, while the Demon Deacons have secured two victories so far in the ACC to tie for second with six points.

NC State looks to get back on the winning side of things after losing back-to-back games to teams ranked in the top-4 nationally - Boston College and North Carolina.
Junior keeper Kim Kern has played extremely well all season long and her statistics reflect that statement. Her 0.81 goals-against-average ranks 64th in the national rankings, and sixth in the ACC. She also ranks third in shutouts with four, and save percentage with an .852 save percentage.
NC State is ranked in the top-50 nationally in four different statistical categories - 20th in shutout percentage (0.583), 25th in save percentage (0.868), 49th in goals-against-average (0.747) and 47th in scoring offense (2.08 goals per game).
Juniors Kristina Argiroff and Tanya Cain, and freshman Jennie Krauser are all tied for the team lead in scoring with 12 points (four goals, four assists) each.
Sophomore Kara Blosser and senior Nadia Aboulhosn have each chipped in with three goals and seven points apiece.
Scouting Wake Forest
The Deacs lost 1-0 in overtime last time out at Florida State, but has already beaten Duke and Clemson in league play so far in 2010. Rachel Nuzzolese and Katie Stengel have done the bulk of the scoring this season, recording 23 and 21 points respectively, and nine goals apiece. Aubrey Bledsoe owns a 1.02 GAA in 12 games in goal.
Last Meeting
Allie Sadow scored once in each half to send No. 6 Wake Forest to a 2-0 victory over NC State on a cold and drizzly evening at Dail Soccer Field last October.
Next Match
NC State hosts Maryland on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Wolfpack is hosting a Kick for the Cure breast cancer awareness event.
