Women's Golf Falls to 12th at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - After two rounds at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C., the NC State women's golf team currently sits in 12th place at 37-over (301-312=613). The Wolfpack was in seventh place after Friday's first round, but finished 11 strokes above their impressive first round score on Saturday.
This weekend's field has 15 of the 18 teams ranked in the top-50 according to Golfstat.com, and nine teams in the top-25. NC State is currently ahead of four ranked teams after two rounds.
Redshirt-freshman Caroline Ellington continues to lead the Pack this weekend. She sat tied atop the leaderboard after the first round, but fell to 15th place after Saturday. Ellington shot a 6-over 78 on Saturday, and combined with her 2-under 70 on Friday, she is at 4-over 148 after two rounds.
Sophomore Amanda Baker posted the Pack's top score of the day, as she shot a 4-over 76 on Saturday. Baker improved eight shots from Friday's first round, as he holed a team-high three birdies and finished even-par on the back-nine.
Senior Brooke Baker shot a 9-over 81 on Saturday. Rounding out the scoring was the freshmen duo of Ana Menendez, 5-over 77, and Brittany Marchand, 10-over 82.
Duke holds the team lead, as the Blue Devils are the only school under par after two rounds at 1-under 575. Brittany Altomare of Virginia holds the individual lead by a stroke, at 5-under 139.
