Nagaraj and Bhambri Stay Alive in Singles

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - NC State's Sanaa Bhambri and Sandhya Nagaraj kept their singles hopes alive Saturday at the ITA Regional Indoors in Chapel Hill, N.C. with two victories each.
Bhambri advanced to the quarterfinals with wins over Jennifer Stone of UNC 6-1, 6-2 and Hanna Mar of Duke 7-5, 6-3. She will face Duke's Nadine Fahoum Sunday at 10:15 a.m.
Nagaraj earned a quarterfinals berth with wins over Andressa Garcia of Winthrop 6-0, 6-1 and Nelly Ciolkowski of Clemson 6-1, 6-1. The junior will take on UNC's Zoe DeBruycker at 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
Tana Illova and Lenka Hojckova fell in the Round of 32 on Saturday. Illova was defeated by Duke's Mary Clayton 6-2, 6-2. Hojckova dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to UNC's Shinann Featherston.
In doubles play, Bhambri and Nagaraj, the last remaining Wolfpack tandem, were bested by Clemson's Bek/Wong team 8-4.
