RALEIGH, N.C. -
The NC State swimming and diving program will hold its first meet of the 2010-11 season on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center on campus. Action is scheduled to begin at 12 noon with free admission offered to all fans.
The NC State men will face VMI, while the women will take on Campbell. Saturday’s meet will also serve as the first on the year for the VMI men, while the Campbell women already own a 1-0 record and will host North Carolina A&T and Georgia State on Friday prior to coming to Raleigh.
The Wolfpack men return 15 letterwinners from last season’s squad that posted a 5-2 record in the regular season. Five student-athletes on the current roster already own top-10 all-time school marks, while 12 newcomers will look to make their own stamp on the program.
NC State’s women return 18 letterwinners from last year, in which the Wolfpack went 7-2 in the regular season and enjoyed its best year in recent campaigns. Nine new contributors will join a solid returning cast in which 10 student-athletes own top-10 all-time school marks.
FUTURE SCHEDULING NOTE - FACILITY CHANGE
The Wolfpack is moving the swimming portion of both of its meets for next weekend – Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23 - to the Triangle Aquatics Center in nearby Cary, N.C, due to facility upgrades. All diving action will remain at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center on campus. NC State will face Maryland at 2 p.m. on Friday before battling Davidson at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
