SR-Swimming                                          3.09 GPA

Travis Martinez, a senior studying environmental technology, is January’s male CAT scholar athlete.  He boasts a GPA of 3.09 and has been named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll twice.

           
As a freshman, Martinez swam the second-fastest 50 freestyle on the team and posted the third-fastest mark in the 200 freestyle.  As a sophomore,  the Clarence, N.Y., native posted 10 top-10 finishes and

swam the team’s second-best time in the 50 and 100 freestyle.  

           
This season, Martinez has posted a team-best 45.99 in the 100 freestyle in October 2009 against Duke and Maryland.
