No. 23 Gymnastics Second at Quad Meet

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - NC State finished second at a quad meet at West Virginia in a battle of four EAGL opponents. The Pack scored a 193.225, trailing host West Virginia (194.000) and defeating Maryland (193.000) and George Washington (188.650). As a team, NC State won bars and floor out of the four events.
Sophomore Jess Panza led the way, leading the team on floor, beam and the all-around. She scored a 38.950 in the all-around to finish second at the meet and her career-best 9.825 on floor was tied for third. She also led the team with a 9.775 on beam, tied for second at the meet.
Freshman Morgan Johnson led the team on vault with a fifth place finish and a 9.750 in her first collegiate action. Fellow freshman Rachel Fincham was eighth with a 9.725 and Brittney Hardiman was 10th with a 9.7.
Senior Taylor Seaman was tied for first on bars with a 9.775, and Fincham was tied for third with a 9.750. Sophomore Brooke Barr and Panza tied for sixth with a 9.7.
On beam, Panza led the way and was followed up by sophomore Anna Kronenfeld with a t-5th place finish and a 9.7.
Fincham was fifth with a 9.775, behind Panza's team-leading mark. Becca Teich was tied for sixth with a 9.750, and Seaman scored a 9.7.
Seaman (38.450) was third in the all-around.
NC State gymnastics will travel to Dallas, Texas next weekend for a quad meet with Oklahoma, Alaska and Texas Women's University.
