W. Track & Field Opens at VT Invite

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Lawanda Henry won the weight throw with an NCAA indoor provisional qualifying mark as the NC State women's track and field team opened the two-day VT Invite.Henry's mark of 61'09.50" - her second-best career mark behind her own school record.
The Pack's dominance in the event continued with three other athletes ranking in the top-6 in addition to Henry. Jessica Sanders was second with a 54'08.75" and Brittany McCain was fourth with a 51'03.50". Tiana Thorpe was sixth.
In other top-15 finishes, Jazueline Daniels was 13th in the triple jump with a 38'02.75" and Karimah Shepard was 14th with a 37'11.50".
The VT Invite ends on Saturday.
