M. Track & Field In Action at VT Invite

BLACKSBURG, Va. - A'Tolani Akinkuotu was second in the 60m finals after placing first in the prelims at the VT Invite. His 6.72 in the finals narrowly missed an NCAA indoor provisional qualifying mark.
Reggie Reese was fifth in the prelims and finals of the 60m dash, running a 6.83 in the prelims for his best time on the day. Ben Major was eighth in the prelims and the finals, running a 6.92 in both races.
Major and Reese also placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 300m run.
Kwame Boatwright was second in the triple jump 49'06.25" - a career-high. Travis Weston was fifth with his personal-best of 48'10.00".
Jason Jones was eighth in the weight throw and Garrett Jackson was 10th in the 500m.
The VT Invite continues on Saturday.
