Daniel Joins Women's Basketball Program

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State head women's basketball coach Kellie Harper announced Tuesday that 6-4 forward/center Lakeesa Daniel has enrolled at the university and joined the Wolfpack hoops program.
Daniel, a native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., originally signed to play at Wake Forest University during the 2008 early signing period, but never enrolled at the Winston-Salem institution.
She is eligble to play immediately for the Wolfpack during the remainder of this season.
Daniel was ranked the 72nd best player in her class by ESPN's Hoopgurlz.com and 19th in the country by position.
In 2008, Daniel was named for a second straight season to the Daily Herald's All-Area basketball team, averaging 16.5 points and 10.4 rebounds as a junior at Northwest Halifax High School.
Daniel played her senior season at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. She averaged a double-double for the Lady Warriors.
