Volleyball Drops Match at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – NC State volleyball lost a three-set ACC contest at Clemson on Sunday, Sept. 27. The loss moves the Wolfpack to 7-10 (0-2 ACC), as the Tigers climb to 10-4 (1-2 ACC).
Lindsay Benac wrapped up a team-best 17 digs for the Pack defense, while Isis Gardner had there block assists. Kelly Wood landed seven kills, and Alex Smith etched 11 set assists.
Clemson took the opening set 25-10, using runs of six and four points to construct an insurmountable lead. The Pack kept things much closer in the second stanza, but still fell by a 25-19 score. Several mini-scoring runs from the Tigers once again forced the Wolfpack to play catch-up.
The Pack lost the third go-round 25-16, despite landing a match-high 16 kills, including three from both Wood and Gardner.
NC State will continue conference action at home next weekend, welcoming Maryland and Boston College. The Maryland match will serve as the team’s annual “Dig Pink” breast cancer awareness event.
