Volleyball to Open ACC Play on the Road

The Clemson bout was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m., but was recently changed.
NC State carries a 7-8 record into play after trumping LaSalle last weekend at the UNC Greensboro Volleyball Tournament. Kelly Wood has provided the most offense, leading the team in kills with 122 as well as 11 service aces. Wood is also second on the team in digs with 202, trailing only Lindsay Benac’s 248. Alex Smith ha a team-best 365 set assists, while Kelly Burns has 186. Sarah Griggs has landed 15 service aces, and both Lisa Kretchman and Jana Angel have 47 total blocks.
Georgia Tech stands at 7-4 (1-0 ACC) after dropping contests to Minnesota and Denver last weekend. Clemson holds a 9-3 (0-1 ACC) slate, having won four of its last five matches. The Tigers won two of three matches last weekend at its own tournament, topping both Presbyterian and Furman.
Georgia Tech and Clemson met each other previously in conference play, with the Yellow Jackets coming out on top.
NC State will continue conference action at home next weekend, welcoming Maryland and Boston College. The Maryland match will serve as the team’s annual “Dig Pink” breast cancer awareness event.
