Seven Gymnasts Honored as Scholastic All-Americans

RALEIGH, N.C. - Seven NC State gymnasts earned Scholastics All-American honors from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) after posting GPAs of 3.5 or higher, led by a perfect 4.0 from Ashley Shepard and Amy Depasquale.
In addition, head coach Mark Stevenson's 2008 EAGL Championship team and NCAA Regional qualifier was ranked 46th nationally by team GPA.
The other five individuals on the team were Lauren Deuser (3.94), Brittney Hardiman (3.93), Brittany Vontz (3.83), Taylor Seaman (3.73) and Logan Mintz (3.57).
Nationally, a total of 67 student-athletes earned 4.0 GPAs for the 2009 academic year and 428 earned Scholastic All America status as a result of GPAs of 3.5 or better for the year.
