Women's Soccer Announces 2009 Schedule

RALEIGH, N.C. 11 home matches at Dail Soccer Stadium highlight a competitive 2009 NC State women’s soccer schedule under first-year head coach Steve Springthorpe.
The Wolfpack will host six non-conference games against the likes of Old Dominion, Davidson, UNLV, Stony Brook, East Carolina and Francis Marion.
A home scrimmage with VMI opens the season on Friday, Aug. 14.
The Pack will play UNLV and Stony Brook for the first time in program history, while the match with ECU is the first meeting since 2000.
NC State will host UNLV on Thursday, Sept. 3 at a special time of 5 p.m., as the football team opens its season that night at Carter-Finley Stadium against South Carolina.
Former Wolfpack keeper Katherine Mertz coaches the Rebels. She begins her fifth season in the desert in 2009.
The club will stay close to home for three road non-league games at Campbell, Elon and Charlotte.
In ACC action the Pack will host Virginia, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Wake Forest and Duke. The club visits Boston College, North Carolina, Maryland, Miami and Florida State.
ACC play gets underway with the first of three straight home games against Virginia on Thursday, Sept. 24., followed by Virginia Tech and Clemson.
The ACC Tournament takes place November 4, 6 and 9.
