COLUMBUS, Ohio The NC State women’s golf team finished day one of the NCAA Central Regional tied for 16th with a score of +24 (312) at the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University.
Freshman Meghan Chapman led the Wolfpack with a four-over 76 and is tied for 30th, while senior Lauren Doughtie is a shot back in a tie for 47th at five-over 77.
Junior Emily Street (+6) is tied for 58th, while classmate Kathleen Strandberg is tied for 85th after shooting an 81.
Sophomore Julie Saleeby is tied for 98th after an 85.
UCLA leads the field at 4 (284). The Bruins have the top-three players on the leaderboard with Stephanie Kono (-3, 69) owning a one-shot lead over teammates Maria Jose Uribe and Sydnee Michaels (-2).
Wake Forest is in fifth at +10 (298) as ACC champion Natalie Sheary is tied for third at 2 (70).
Second round action begins at 8:00 am. NC State has the first tee time and will start from hole No. 10.
