A. Blackmon Hits NCAA Regional Mark

NC State women's track and field star Angelina Blackmon - last week's ACC Co-Performer of the Week - hit a NCAA Regional Qualifying Mark in the 1,500m with a career-best mark at the Duke Invitational. Her time of 4:24.20 was good for fourth in the race and makes her the eighth-fastest performer in school history.
NC State sent athletes to three meets this week - the Duke Invitaional in Durham, N.C., Aggie Relays in Greensboro, N.C. and the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
Lawanda Henry was second in the hammer throw with a distance of 175'01", a new school record. It is the fourth school record that Henry has set in her redshirt freshman season to go along with the indoor and outdoor shot put and weight throw marks.
At the Texas Relays, Mattie Bethea was eighth in the heptathlon with 4,897 points. Her best event in the heptathlon was a second place finish in the high jump with a 5'07.75".
