Henry Hits Regional Mark at Penn Relays

School record holder and 2009 ACC Outdoor Shot Put champion Lawanda Henry remained hot as the NC State women’s and men’s track and field teams were in action at the prestigious Penn Relays on Thursday.
Henry hit her fifth NCAA Regional qualifying mark in the shot put with a distance of 49’01.00” a week after winning the ACC Championship in the event.
In addition to Henry, Brittany McCain was ninth in the discus and Kayla Lawson was 17th in the high jump.
On the men’s side, Andrew North was 19th in the 5,000m with a time of 14:38.47.
A handful of Wolfpack runners ran unattached, including Ryan Hill, who finished second in the 5,000m with a time of 14’09.63”, a regional mark. Patrick Campbell was eighth in the same race.
Running unattached for the women was current graduate assistant Jemissa Hess (6th in the 5,000m) and Emily Pritt, who was seventh with a 16:49.05.
