Volleyball Announces 2009 Schedule

RALEIGH, N.C. Two home tournaments and 19 ACC contests highlight a competitive 2009 NC State volleyball schedule, released on Thursday, April 2 by head coach Charita J. Stubbs. The season will begin on Aug. 28 in Raleigh with the NC State Tournament.
“We are excited to have a competitive and challenging schedule for the fall 2009 season,” said Stubbs. “We are bringing in quality opponents for both of our home tournaments in order to prepare us for a strong ACC slate.”
The Pack will compete in four tournaments total, including the NC State Tournament (Aug. 28-29) and the NC State Classic (Sept. 11-12). Campbell, Morgan State, Davidson and College of Charleston will come to Raleigh for the NC State Tournament, while DePaul, Dartmouth, George Mason, Rutgers and Xavier round out the NC State Classic field.
State will also participate at the Cleveland State Tournament (Sept. 5-6, Cleveland, Ohio), as well as an event at UNC Greensboro (Sept. 18-19, Greensboro, N.C.).
In ACC action the Pack will host Maryland, Boston College, Wake Forest, Duke, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Virginia and North Carolina. The red and white will travel to Georgia Tech, Clemson, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Miami, Boston College, Maryland, Duke and Wake Forest.
