WALLACE, N.C. NC State sophomore Matt Hill led from start to finish, and claimed individual medalist honors at the 2009 River Landing Intercollegiate hosted by NC State this weekend. Hill won the tournament by four strokes, as he finished the three rounds at 10-under (206) and claimed his third title of the spring season, and fourth of the school year.
Entering the third round with a slight lead, Hill carded a four-under (68) in the final round, tying as best round of the day. Hill finished with an eagle on the par-five No. 5 to go along with his three birdies on the day. On the front-nine, Hill carded a score of five-under.
Hill has now claimed five career victories in his first 20 tournaments of his NC State career, and has four this season.
