Softball to Host Michigan State on Tuesday

RALEIGH, N.C. NC State softball will return to the Curtis & Jacqueline Dail Softball Stadium tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10, for two games against Michigan State. Action is slated to begin at 4 p.m., with game two following immediately afterwards. Live stats will be provided on GoPack.com, while ACC Select will provide a live video broadcast.
The Wolfpack (8-7 overall) has won six of its last seven after a 4-1 showing this past weekend at the USF Under Armour Invitational in Clearwater, Fla. Lindsay Campana and Hannah Ojeda were both named to the all-tournament team, with Campana earning two wins and a save with an ERA of 0.00 and 22 strikeouts in 16 innings, while Ojeda batted.400 with six hits, five runs scored, an RBI and exceptional play in the outfield grass.
State’s pitching staff has dropped its total ERA to 1.83, having allowed just 35 earned runs. Alyssa Ishibashi and Ojeda are tied for top batting average on the team, both carrying a .324 clip. Kristine Bechtholdt has come up big in several crucial situations, tallying a team-best 10 RBIs on the year. Allison Presnell is just behind Bechtholdt with 9 RBIs, while both have three home runs on the season.
Michigan State stands at 8-8, having split four games this past weekend in nearby Chapel Hill at the Tar Heel Invitational. The Spartans boast three players batting over .400, including Gina Mondo (.444), Lauren Kramer (.415) and Kara Weigle (.404). Four pitchers have combined for a 3.82 ERA, with Kelly Confer (35.0) and Megan Hair (34.0) working the majority of innings.
