Softball Heads to USF Under Armour Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State softball will resume play at the USF Under Armour Invitational in Clearwater, Fla., March 6-8. The Pack will play five games total throughout its three day stay,with action being held at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex. GoPack.com will offer will live stats for each Wolfpack game.
State will take on Ball State (4 p.m.) and Illinois-Chicago (6 p.m.) on Friday, before battling Hofstra (11 a.m.) on Saturday. The Pack will play another game later on Saturday before playing a final contest on Sunday. Those opponents and game times will be determined based upon how the tournament field shakes out.
The Pack will arrive in Florida riding a two-game winning streak after topping both Siena (6-0) and Canisius (7-0) last week at home. Mendy McKenzie (1-2) and Lindsay Campana (2-3) have held opponents to just three combined hits in State’s last two outings, while the Wolfpack offense as outscored its opposition 13-0.
Kristine Bechtholdt is leading NC State at the plate with a .333 batting clip, while Allison Presnell clubbed two home runs for the second time in her career last week against Canisius.
NC State is 0-1 all-time against Illinois-Chicago and 1-2 vs. Hofstra. State and Ball State have never met on the diamond.
