Blackmon Sets School Record in 800m

RALEIGH, N.C. - Angelina Blackmon notched a personal-best with a school record and NCAA regional qualifying mark in the 800m on Saturday at the 2009 Reebok Raleigh Relays.
Blackmon ran a 2:07.58 to finish second in the event on a rainy day at Paul Derr Track on NC State's campus.
The previous mark of 2:07.66 by Mary Ann Carraher stood since 1989.
Her younger sister, Tiayonna, was 13th in the same race with a 2:13.87 - her career-best.
Bethea ran in the finals of the 100m hurdles after setting a personal-best in the prelims on Friday in the event.
Ashley Neal had her personal-best in the triple jump with a 38'08.75", the eighth-best mark in school history. She finished seventh.
Kayla Lawson was ninth in the same event with a 38'02.75".
