Track Competes at 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NC State men's and women's track and field teams competed at the 49er Classic in Charlotte, N.C. on Friday, March 20.
On the women's side, Mattie Bethea was second in the long jump of 18'05.00" and Brittany McCain was second in the hammer throw with a 153'06.
Tiayonna Blackmon was third in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:40.87.
Bethea was also fourth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.50.
McCain was also successful in the discus throw with a sixth place showing, throwing for a mark of 128'01.
For the men, A'Tolani Akinkuotu won the 100m dash prelims with a time of 10.43 to advance to the finals.
Lamont Savage was fourth in the long jump with a 23'00.50".
Jason Jones was fifth in the hammer throw with a 161'01".
James Robinson was eighth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.04.
Gregory Dame was ninth in the 1,500m run with a 3:58.87.
The meet continues on Saturday in Charlotte.
