Hargis Named Assistant Athletics Director at South Florida

RALEIGH, N.C. Colin Hargis, NC State’s assistant director of ticket operations since 2005, has been named South Florida’s assistant athletics director for ticket operations. He begins his new job effective March 16.

“Working at NC State has been an unbelievable honor and privilege,” Hargis said. “I have had so many great experiences during my time here at NC State and have had the opportunity to work with and learn from some incredible people.  I am excited about this new opportunity, but I am ultimately grateful to have been a member of the Wolfpack over these years and I will surely miss everyone at NC State.”

A native of Voorheesville, N.Y., Hargis received his B.S. in business administration from Wingate University in May, 2004, and accepted a job as a graduate student in the NC State Ticket Office. Hargis completed his Master’s of parks, recreation, and tourism management with an emphasis in sport management from NC State University in May of 2006, while working full-time.

“Colin has been an integral part of the success and growth of the ticket office over the past few years,” said Brian Kelly, NC State’s assistant athletics director for ticket operations. “I have watched him grow as a professional, from the days when he was a young graduate assistant straight out of college, to the lead assistant director role in which he most recently served.

“The office is definitely going to be different without him, and we will miss him.”

In his new position, he will oversee day-to-day management and operations of the South Florida ticket office and help promote sales and attendance.
