Raleigh, N.C. The Carolina RailHawks of the USL announced the signing of former NC State star forward Aaron King. King will make his debut in RailHawks Orange on Saturday, March 14, when the RailHawks take on the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer in the “Community Shield” match.
“Aaron King is an exceptional athlete,” said RailHawks Head Coach Martin Rennie. “He scored a lot of goals at Charleston and NC State, and I am sure he will do the same for the RailHawks.”
King has had an impressive career at North Carolina State where he scored the highest number of goals (44) in the last 20 years. At NC State, King recorded a total of 104 pts adding 15 assists to his records. During his collegiate career he received many accolades including All-America in 2005, three-time All-ACC First Team in 2003, 2004, 2005 and three-time All-South First Team in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
In 2006 he was drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy but was subsequently traded to the Colorado Rapids. In 2007 he signed with the Charleston Battery, of the USL-1 where he proceeded to make an impact with his speed and nose for the back of the net. While at the Battery, King scored a total of eleven goals and recorded three assists for 25 points in 51 games.
King now joins Santiago Fusilier as former Pack players on the RailHawks for this upcoming season.
