W. Track & Field Upcoming Duo Meets

RALEIGH, N.C. - The women’s track and field team will be competing in two upcoming events. Kara McKenna, who leads the team in the mile run with a time of 4:55.41 at the Carolina Classic, will be competing at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York, NY. McKenna’s mile time ranks fifth in the ACC, while the rest of the team will be competing in the Virginia Tech Elite Meet.
The women’s team boasts a competitive squad heading in to Blacksburg, Va. Leading the charge is Lawanda Henry, who currently leads the ACC and team in the shot put and weight throw with marks of 50’11.50” (CNU Holiday Open) and 61’04.00” (Tar Heel Invitational), respectively. After winning the 3,000m at the Carolina Classic last week, Andie Cozzarelli heads to Blacksburg with the 10th best time in the ACC at 10:01.32.
Mattie Bethea currently leads the team and is fifth in the ACC in high jump with a height of 5’07.00”. Kayla Lawson is ninth in the ACC and second on the team with a 5’06.00” mark in high jump.
Brittany Tinsley’s 5:00.25 mile at the Carolina Classic is 10th best in the conference. Taylor Graham (9.14) and Brandalyn Furr (14:30) own the eighth and ninth best times in the ACC in the 55m hurdle and the best on the team. Kayla Lawson goes in to the meet with the ninth triple jump mark in the ACC with a distance of 38’07.75” at the UNC Classic. Lawson’s triple jump distance also leads the team.
