Baseball Season Tickets Now on Sale

RALEIGH, N.C. Wolfpack fans hoping to get prime reserved seats for 2009 NC State baseball games can now purchase season tickets for the 33-game home schedule at Doak Field at Dail Park.
The season begins on Feb. 20 with the Summit Hospitality Invitational, a four-team tournament that includes the Wolfpack, Xavier, Santa Clara and Rhode Island.
Season-ticket sales have increased in each of the last four years, to the delight of Wolfpack coach Elliott Avent. Last year, nearly 600 season tickets were sold. Prices are this same this year -- $130 for the full season in 2008.
“Everybody likes to play in front of a packed house,” Avent said. “My dream has always been to sell out Doak Field at Dail Park, not just for the Carolina, the Florida State or East Carolina games, but for the whole season. I think we are headed there.
“The tickets are the same price as last year and I think it is one of the best bargains in the Triangle given the competition you’ll see on the field. We have also stepped up our concessions and our parking this year, and all of our home games have a great family atmosphere.”
The Wolfpack finished last season with a 42-22 overall record and an 18-11 ACC record. Avent's team won the NCAA Raleigh Regional, advancing to play Georgia in the NCAA Athens (Ga.) Super Regional, where it lost in a three-game series to the Bulldogs.
Among the Wolfpack’s home ACC series this season will be Florida State (April 17-19), North Carolina (May 8-10) and Clemson (May 14-16), plus the popular game against East Carolina (April 1).
“This is one of the best home schedules we have had in years,” said associate athletics director Dick Christy, administrator for baseball. “And our top series come after the weather warms up in the spring.”
Single-game tickets can be purchased, but are subject to availability and are not likely for the top games at the 2,500-capacity stadium. For more information about purchasing season tickets, visit the GoPack.com Ticket Center or call the ticket office at (919) 865-1510.
