Men's Golf Travels to Puerto Rico Classic

Raleigh, N.C. The NC State men’s golf team returns to action this weekend, as the Wolfpack will travel to Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, to take part in the 2009 Puerto Rico Classic. The tournament will be played on the Rio Mar Country Club River Course, a par-72, 6902-yard venue.
The Wolfpack will be competing in its second tournament of the spring season. NC State will have seniors Darren Blair and Andrew Byrd, junior Brad Revell, and sophomores Brandon Detweiler and Matt Hill all compete this weekend.
Purdue University will host the 15 team field in the three-day tournament on Feb. 27- March 1. The field is highlighted by four of the top five teams in the nation according to Golfweek rankings. Georgia, ranked 2nd; Oklahoma, ranked 3rd; Alabama ranked 4th; and Florida ranked 5th will all take part in the tournament. All 15 teams participating are ranked inside Golfweek's top 70.
Teams will tee off on Friday and Saturday at 8:00 and Sunday at 7:30. Live scoring will not be available.
