Savage, Akinkuotu Hit NCAA Provisional Marks

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Lamont Savage and A'Tolani Akinkuotu both hit NCAA Indoor Provisional Qualifying Marks at the VT Challenge in Blacksburg, Va.
Savage notched his best mark in a Wolfpack uniform in the long jump, and hit his first NCAA qualifying mark. His 25'00.00" is the third-best mark in the ACC this season and was good for fourth overall at the meet.
Akinkuotu was first in the finals and then turned in a 6.70 in the finals to take first. It was his fifth NCAA Indoor Provisional qualifiying mark in the 60m dash this season, including a school-record 6.68 earlier this season.
Jason Jones was third in the weight throw with a 56'06.00", and ranks sixth in the ACC in the event this season.
The two-day VT Challenge continues on Saturday.
