Women's Golf In 3rd Through 36 Holes

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. - The NC State women's golf team is in third place after Monday’s second round of the Qdoba Invitational. Joanna Saleeby is tied for fourth to lead the Wolfpack through 36 holes at Don Shula’s Golf Resort.
The Pack shot a team score of +16 (304) on Monday and owns a two-day total of +22 (294-304=598). Georgia State leads the field at 590, followed by Louisville at 595.
Saleeby, a junior from Raleigh, followed up yesterday’s even-par 72 with a three-over 75 today and is just one stroke off the lead at +3 (72-75-147). She is in a prime position to record her first career top-10 finish.
Senior Lauren Doughtie, who also shot par on Monday, fired a four-over 76 during today’s second round and is at +4 (72-76=148) overall one shot behind Saleeby.
Junior Emily Street is tied for 11th through two rounds at +6 (73-77=150) after a five-over 77 on Monday.
Freshman Meghan Chapman shot a four-over 76 today and is at +9 (77-76=153) for the tournament, while sophomore Julie Saleeby is at +11 (78-77=155) through 36 holes.
Playing as individuals, junior Kathleen Strandberg is tied for 44th in the field at +14 (77-81=158), while freshman Hunter Ross in tied for 63rd at +20 (81-83=164).
Cindy LaCrosse (Louisville), Iliska Verway (Georgia State) and Laura Anderson (Louisville) are atop the leaderboard at +2 (146), followed by a group of four golfers one-shot back including the Pack’s Saleeby.
Tuesday’s third and final round will feature three Wolfpack golfers within four shots of the lead.
